Interim Finance Lead (Band 8D) - NHS
Location: Cambridgeshire
Hybrid: Minimum 2 days in office per week
Contract Type: Interim - 6 months (December start)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an Interim Finance Lead to oversee and manage the Financial Accounts and Income team during a critical period. This pivotal role includes acting as the Assistant Director of Finance, ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
*Lead the Financial Accounts and Income team with a focus on maintaining the integrity of the balance sheet.
*Provide oversight for payroll, payments, receivables, and NHS SBS transactions.
*Ensure timely completion of monthly financial close, board reporting, NHSE submissions, and year-end accounts.
*Resolve payroll issues and oversee debt collection resulting from salary overpayments.
*Manage statutory returns, including charity accounting and VAT compliance.
*Support financial planning of the Trust’s balance sheet and cash flow.
*Deliver budget holder training in areas such as cash management, debtors, and capital expenditure.
*Provide technical expertise on VAT, capital, and lease accounting.
Essential Experience:
*Significant experience in senior NHS finance roles, including managing balance sheets and statutory reporting.
*Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and develop teams.
*Comprehensive knowledge of NHS financial systems and technical areas such as VAT and capital accounting.
*A proactive and solutions-focused approach to financial challenges.
