Our innovative Financial Services sector client is seeking a talented and experienced Power BI Developer to join their growing People Analytics team. As a Power BI Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining reporting solutions using Power BI to support HR & People Analytics. You will work closely with HR business partners to understand data needs and deliver powerful, actionable insights. You will utilise your expertise in Power BI, DAX, and semantic data models to transform complex HR datasets into intuitive, impactful dashboards and reports.
Responsibilities
* Power BI Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive and visually appealing Power BI reports and dashboards that enable HR leaders and business stakeholders to make data-driven decisions.
* Semantic Model Design: Build and maintain efficient semantic models, ensuring that HR data (e.g., headcount, attrition, recruitment, performance, diversity) is structured and optimised for easy access and analysis.
* Advanced DAX: Develop complex DAX measures and calculated columns to address HR-related business needs such as employee turnover, retention metrics, talent management KPIs, and workforce demographics.
* HR Data Integration: Work with HRIS systems (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, ADP) and other internal data sources to integrate, clean, and transform HR data for reporting and analysis within Power BI.
* Data Analysis & Reporting: Provide insightful analysis of HR data to support workforce planning, employee engagement initiatives, recruitment, and learning & development. Identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
* Collaboration with HR Teams: Partner with HR stakeholders to understand their reporting needs, identify key HR metrics, and deliver actionable insights that align with business objectives.
* Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest Power BI features, DAX enhancements, and HR analytics trends, bringing innovation to the development of HR dashboards and reports.
* Data Quality & Governance: Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of HR data, implementing data governance practices and best practices for data privacy and security (GDPR compliance).
* User Training & Support: Train HR team members and business users on using Power BI dashboards and reports. Provide ongoing support to ensure self-service capabilities and troubleshooting.
Desired Experience
*Power BI Expertise: At least 3+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI, including report and dashboard design, DAX development, and semantic model creation.
*HR Analytics Experience: Experience working with HR data (e.g., headcount, recruitment, performance management, employee engagement, retention) and familiarity with HR metrics and KPIs.
*Advanced DAX: Strong proficiency in writing advanced DAX formulas to calculate complex HR metrics and KPIs, ensuring high performance across large datasets.
*Data Integration: Proven experience in integrating HR data from various sources (HRIS, Excel, third-party tools) into Power BI, using Power Query and SQL for data transformation and preparation.
*HR Systems Knowledge: Experience working with HR software and HRIS systems (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, Oracle HCM, etc.) and understanding their data structures.
*Data Modelling: Strong experience in designing and optimising data models for reporting, including the use of star/snowflake schemas, ensuring the models are scalable, efficient, and easy to maintain.
*Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with HR business partners and translate technical information into meaningful insights for non-technical users.
*Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends and solve complex HR data problems using data analysis and Power BI tools.
