Job Description:
Our Client are a growing, UK & International, market-leading manufacturer requiring a Senior Buyer to join the Procurement function. Ideally, you will have gained experienced within fast-paced manufacturing operations, with a demonstrated track record of managing direct material spend categories.
Key Responsibilities:
*Develop and implement regional strategies for direct commodity spend.
*Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable and long-term source of supply.
*Evaluate and select new suppliers in line with business needs.
*Identify cost saving opportunities and quality improvements.
*Manage Tender and RFQ (Request for Quotation) processes including creating necessary supporting documentation.
*Negotiate and agree Framework Agreements; Rebate Agreements and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with Key Suppliers and valuate existing contracts to ensure compliance with company policies.
*Resolve Supplier or product issues to meet price, delivery, and quality requirements.
Skills & Experience:
*Minimum of 3-5 years buying experience gained within manufacturing operations
*Demonstrated experience of managing direct materials spend for production
*A collaborative approach to team working
*Excellent Communication Skills
*Negotiation and Influencing Skills
*Good Microsoft Office skills
*CIPS or Business Degree - or desire to pursue CIPS Professional Qualification desirable
*Full UK Driving Licence
