ROLE: Humanities Teacher (History or Geography)
LOCATION: Addlestone
Job Overview
A fantastic secondary school in a Addlestone are looking for a teacher of humanities to take on some full time work starting in the New Year. This is a long term commitment with the potential to go permanent for the right teacher. The school, offers a first class education to its students and enjoys a very strong reputation as one of the best secondary schools.
The school are looking for a teacher that is a specialist in the humanities and can either be a ECT or a teacher with many years of teaching behind them. Marking and planning would be required. This post is currently term time only.
Duties
*Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards.
*Create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
*Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, assignments, and observations.
*Provide constructive feedback to students to support their learning journey.
*Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding student performance and behaviour.
*Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching strategies and share best practices.
*Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and methodologies.
Requirements
*A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS) is essential.
*Strong understanding of the curriculum relevant to the age group being taught.
*Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage students effectively.
*Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for teaching and supporting student development.
*Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.
*Previous teaching experience is advantageous but not mandatory; newly qualified teachers are encouraged to apply.
