About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our dedicated Long Term Team within the London Borough of Barnet. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable children and families.
As a Senior Social Worker, you will be responsible for managing a complex caseload of Children in Need and Child Protection cases, including court work. You will provide expert guidance and support to your team, ensuring high-quality practice and positive outcomes for children.
Key Responsibilities:
*Manage a complex caseload of Children in Need and Child Protection cases
*Conduct thorough assessments and develop comprehensive care plans
*Represent the Local Authority in court proceedings
*Provide expert advice and supervision to junior staff
*Contribute to the development and implementation of team policies and procedures
*Work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure a multi-agency approach to safeguarding
Essential Skills and Experience:
*Qualified Social Worker with a relevant degree and registration with Social Work England
*Significant experience working within a Children’s Services setting
*Proven ability to manage complex cases and work under pressure
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*Strong understanding of child protection legislation and safeguarding procedures
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
