Job Description:
The Role We are seeking a Marketing Coordinator to join our client’s team. This role involves supporting buying teams in the creation, development, and management of marketing assets, including packaging and photography. The successful candidate will oversee packaging processes, ensuring they align with brand guidelines, legal standards, and sustainability goals, while also managing marketing operations for branded and customer own-label products.
Key Requirements *Proactively develop creative and effective packaging solutions for new products, ensuring alignment with target audiences and sales channels.
*Enhance the design and performance of existing packaging, identifying opportunities for cost optimisation and improved sustainability.
*Collaborate with design teams and suppliers to create packaging that meets drop-test and compliance standards while achieving commercial objectives.
*Fully specify packaging materials, formats, and finishes, ensuring suitability for various product types and sales channels.
*Write clear packaging briefs, conduct sampling and testing, and ensure all artwork meets brand and legal requirements.
*Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers to maintain 100% compliance with critical timelines.
*Proofread and approve packaging artwork to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand standards.
*Manage supplier packaging stock, balancing cost-effective production with operational needs.
*Coordinate engaging photography briefs to support brand and customer communications.
*Conduct market analysis to recommend future packaging improvements, rebranding projects, and new pack formats.
Candidate Criteria *Proven experience in managing multi-faceted projects under tight deadlines.
*Knowledge of consumer goods NPD processes or retail merchandising.
*Understanding of retail and sales management principles.
*Ability to create and communicate clear creative briefs for agencies, photographers, and designers.
*Familiarity with packaging artwork creation, cutter guides, and print processes.
*Experience working with overseas suppliers and awareness of sustainable materials and legislative changes.
*Strong proficiency in project management, with attention to detail and accuracy.
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including copywriting.
*Skilled in software tools, including Excel (VLookup), MS Office, and design tools such as Illustrator or Photoshop.
*A self-starter and problem solver, able to manage critical paths and deliver results efficiently.
