Job Description:
As Ruby Energy continues its growth into 2025 and beyond, we have a new and exciting role available for an Accounts and Payroll Assistant to join our diverse team based at our offices in Fleetwood, Blackpool.
The position is a key role within the finance department as you will have responsibility for supporting the finance department in the production of regular management accounts and payroll production. Under the supervision of the Finance Manager, the Accounts and Payroll Assistant shall liaise with customers, suppliers and teams across the organisation to investigate and resolve financial queries submitted to the department.
This role would be perfect for a professional candidate with a genuine desire and ability to develop a professional career within the finance function.

Main Responsibilities (but not limited to):
*Preparation of monthly payrolls
*Processing payments
*Monthly payroll reporting including headcount movements and overtime
*Processing manual, pay adjustments
*Assisting with current payroll projects to improve the current payroll processes
*Support the purchase ledger team with processing of invoices and be a key contact for suppliers.
*Support the finance team with bank reconciliations and cash management including updating the short-term and long-range cash forecasting models
*Ad hoc administrative support as and when required.
Skills & Qualifications:
*Basic understanding of financial / management accounting practices
*Outstanding organisational and time management skills
*Expert interpersonal skills
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills
*Self-motivated, self-directed, and willing to accept responsibility for results
*Sets high goals and standards for self and others in the organisation
*IT Literate and proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
*Excellent written and oral presentation skills
*Will be comfortable operating in an environment of constant change
*Numerate and accurate with ability to solve detailed problems and use own initiative
*Competency with SAGE or similar financial accounting software preferred but not essential.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
*GCSE level 5 or above in Mathematics
*A Level qualification in one of Business, Mathematics and/or Computer science (or similar)
*Ambition to work towards a financial qualification (or continue studies).
