Job Description:
Tradewind Recruitment Birmingham is seeking a skilled and dedicated Nursery Assistant to join the team in one of our nurseries based in Sutton Coldfield. As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning, development, and care of young children in a nursery setting.
Key Responsibilities:
*Collaborate with Nursery Lead to plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of children in line with the EYFS framework.
*Provide tailored support to children with special educational needs (SEN) or disabilities, adapting activities and resources to accommodate their requirements.
*Observe and assess children’s progress and development, using tools and techniques specified by the EYFS framework, and provide feedback to support ongoing assessment and planning for children’s learning.
*Build positive relationships with parents or caregivers, involving them in their child’s learning journey, providing feedback on their child’s progress, and offering advice and support.
*Ensure health and safety requirements are met, including risk assessments, supervision of children, and promoting good hygiene practices.
*Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge and skills related to the EYFS framework, child development, safeguarding, and first aid.
Requirements:
*Relevant qualifications and/or experience in early years education, such as a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification or equivalent.
*Sound knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework, including the principles, goals, and standards.
*Experience in supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) or disabilities in an early years setting.
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
*Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues to support children’s learning and development.
*Proactive, adaptable, and flexible approach to work, with a positive attitude and a genuine passion for working with young children.
