Job Description:
Description Keoghs Corporate Risk Team is seeking to recruit a Multi-Track File Handler to deal with delegated and non-delegated multi-track Employers & Public Liability (EL/PL) claims. This diverse role offers an excellent opportunity to work within Keoghs’ thriving Corporate Sector Risks Practice with a variety of high profile clients.
The successful candidate will predominantly handle a litigated case load but may also handle some claims from pre-litigation.
The successful candidate would also be a Technical Lead for at least one client and be involved in internal technical client meetings’

Key Responsibilities *Building relationships with Keoghs corporate clients - liaising with clients and, where appropriate, brokers and insurers
*Managing a mixed caseload of EL/PL predominantly multi track cases consisting of claims typically valued between £25k - £100K, plus some in excess of £100k (perhaps increasing to a case profile with more over £100k in the future as the role develops).
*Assessing and advising on liability and quantum
*Devising strategies to resolve cases with the best possible outcome, identifying areas to investigate and evidence to collate
*Considering contracts and indemnities
*Making full use of the firm’s Case Management System in progressing files from receipt to closure
*Drafting pleadings to include Defences and collating witness evidence
*Attending court in person or by telephone, attending trials, settlement conferences etc as required
*Achieve targets in terms of chargeable hours, WIP and the collation of client MI
*To ensure compliance with the SRA standards & regulations

Working Hours & Location: This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday and the office location is Liverpool. Our hybrid working requires just one day in this office per week.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise *EL/PL multi track file handling experience
*Positive, confident and enthusiastic
*Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
*Great team player to work with and support the pre litigation construction lawyers, wider construction team lawyers and the sector lead
*Good with clients and enjoys client interaction.
*Ability to negotiate via telephone
*Ability to prepare succinct and concise reports
*All round excellent skills in inter-personal & client care, marketing, IT, analytical, prioritising & organising and advocacy
*Has the ability to win the trust and confidence of others, make decisions, anticipate problems and identify solutions and maintain concentration & pay attention to detail
