Indirect Buyer

The Role
As a Category Buyer, you will play a crucial role in the Supply Chain team, focusing on ensuring cost-effective procurement, strong supplier relationships, and alignment with business values. Your responsibilities will include:
* Procuring goods and services using benchmarking and best practice tools to ensure value for money.
* Processing purchase requisitions, issuing RFQs, raising and expediting purchase orders, and updating stakeholders on delivery timelines.
* Building and maintaining productive relationships with suppliers to meet business needs.
* Managing procurement administration tasks such as accurate data entry, resolving invoice queries, and approving invoices.
* Conducting supplier and market research to identify opportunities for business improvements.
* Collaborating with internal teams to ensure seamless communication and alignment.
* Identifying cost-saving opportunities and negotiating improved terms with suppliers.
* Responding efficiently to enquiries in a fast-paced environment.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (flexibility available within office hours of 7:00 am – 7:00 pm).
Who You Are
We are seeking an individual with the following skills and experience:
* Commercial awareness with proven experience in purchasing and negotiation.
* Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and suppliers.
* CIPS Level 4 qualification (desirable) or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
* Experience reviewing, negotiating, and implementing contracts.
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and make informed decisions.
* Eagerness to learn and support the wider team.
* Excellent organisational skills with great attention to detail.
* Ability to prioritise workload effectively and meet deadlines.
* Strong communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
* Adaptability to thrive in a growing, fast-paced business environment.
