Production Planner in a complex manufacturing environment
Location: Cheltenham

Salary: circa £40,000 per year plus healthcare, pension and further benefits

Job Purpose
The Production Planner will be responsible for ensuring the efficient scheduling and coordination of manufacturing processes to meet customer demands and business objectives. You will play a pivotal role in optimising production schedules, minimising downtime, and ensuring on-time delivery while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
*Develop, maintain, and optimise production schedules to ensure efficient manufacturing operations.
*Monitor material availability, capacity planning, and lead times to balance supply with demand.
*Work closely with Production, Procurement, and Sales teams to ensure alignment of schedules with business priorities and customer requirements.
*Analyse production data to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements to maximise productivity.
*Coordinate and manage changes in production plans due to unexpected delays, material shortages, or urgent customer requirements.
*Identify risks in production schedules and propose mitigation strategies.
Skills & Experience Required
*Proven experience as a Production Planner, Scheduler, or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
*Strong understanding of production planning principles, capacity management, and supply chain processes.
*Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel; experience with IFS planning software is a plus.
