Project/Programme Manager
London based - 2/3 days a week on site - Flexible working
12 month (outside IR35 contract)
Role Overview
Robert Half have partnered with a leading financial services firm that are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Project/Programme Manager with a solid background in pensions or financial services. This role is ideal for someone with extensive experience in handling complex, data-intensive projects while ensuring adherence to best practices in project planning, documentation, and governance.
This role will be a complex project, spanning multiple organisations and you must have a good understanding of financial/pension products.
Key Responsibilities
*Programme Oversight: Take ownership of multiple high-impact projects or programmes, ensuring successful delivery within agreed scope, timelines, and budgets.
*Data-Centric Approach: Drive data-focused initiatives, ensuring data quality, insightful analysis, and effective use in project decisions.
*Governance and Documentation: Establish and maintain robust project governance structures, producing and managing high-quality documentation, including detailed plans, risk assessments, and issue logs.
*Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across business units, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
*Risk and Issue Mitigation: Proactively identify and address project risks and issues, maintaining momentum and safeguarding project outcomes.
*Continuous Improvement: Monitor and evaluate project results, incorporating lessons learned into future projects to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
*Change Leadership: Guide teams and stakeholders through project-related transitions, ensuring smooth implementation and adoption.
Key Skills and Experience
*Industry Knowledge: Significant experience managing initiatives in pensions, insurance, wealth management, or broader financial services.
*Project Management Expertise: Proficient in applying diverse project methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, PRINCE2) and using tools such as JIRA, MS Project, or similar.
*Data Proficiency: Skilled at managing projects with a strong data focus, ensuring effective analysis, governance, and actionable reporting.
*Exceptional Documentation: Track record of producing detailed and high-standard project documentation, including plans, charters, and governance logs.
*Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, capable of influencing senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
*Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with the ability to identify challenges, propose solutions, and execute improvements efficiently.
