System Support Specialist - Job Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a System Support Specialist for a company in need of a highly organised, detail-oriented individual to ensure the smooth running of their IT infrastructure.
This role will be integral to the management and maintenance of the company’s IT hardware, software, network, and connectivity systems. You will be reporting directly to the Head of Finance and liaising with external IT partners to maintain a secure and efficient IT environment.
System Support Specialist Key Responsibilities:
*Collaborate with external partners and consultants to oversee IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, computers, telephone systems, and software, ensuring security, licensing compliance, regular backups, and updates.
*Maintain a reserve of spare IT equipment to minimize downtime during system failures.
*Provide user support and training for the ERP system, addressing issues, troubleshooting, and facilitating access to additional assistance when needed.
*Monitor system functionality through daily checks, promptly identifying and resolving any system failures.
*Develop and implement disaster recovery plans to reduce the impact of IT disruptions.
*Forward Sophos security alerts to external IT support for further investigation.
*Manage user onboarding and offboarding across various IT systems, including the network and Office 365.
*Coordinate with external telephone support teams to administer user accounts on the telephone system.
*Work with external IT partners to manage shared infrastructure and ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
*Oversee the installation and setup of new hardware, such as laptops, printers, and other devices, liaising with third-party providers when necessary.
The Candidate:
*Self-motivated with strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
*Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the business.
*High attention to detail and the ability to stay calm and professional under pressure.
*Strong interpersonal skills to work with colleagues across departments.
