Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Children’s Support Worker to join our team in Rochdale. In this role, you will provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting. You will work closely with a team of professionals to create a positive and safe environment that promotes the physical, emotional, and social well-being of the children.

Qualifications and Skills:
*Previous experience working with children or young people in a residential setting. (Essential)
*NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent qualification (desirable).
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
*Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
*Patience, empathy, and resilience.
*A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Responsibilities:
*To develop, monitor and review individual risk assessments, homes support plans, care plans and ensure that all actions resulting from them are followed.
*To assist young people in dealing with behavioural, emotional, or other difficulties in line with Policy, Procedure, Supported Accommodation Standards & Regulations.
*Knowledge of safeguarding in a children and young people’s context.
*To participate in the professional life of the home and to work as a member of the residential staff team.
*Accurately complete all relevant records and files in accordance with Statutory requirements and home policies.
*Participate in training, attend staff meetings, and assist with home functions including administration duties.
*Ensure the compliance of regulation frameworks the home falls within and understand OFSTED.
*To support young people to develop skills and confidence moving on to independent living.
*Provide day-to-day care and support to children and young people.
*Develop and implement individualized care plans.
*Foster a positive and nurturing environment.
*Support children in their educational and personal development.
*Manage challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner.
*Maintain accurate records and reports.
*Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external agencies.
