The School: SEN Teacher - Primary - Secondary - Maths - Speech and Language - Oxted
The school provides life changing education and therapy to students aged 7-19 with language disorders, including Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). They at the forefront of global research and training in the field of speech and language disabilities. The school provides a unique, specialist environment that closely fits the needs and challenges that the students face. The school offers a highly specialised curriculum which aims to ensure all pupils can reach their potential. The students’ needs include Autism, Downs Syndrome, communication needs and they do require high levels of care and support.
Students study a balanced and differentiated curriculum, incorporating the requirements of their chosen vocational courses as well as Maths, English and PSHCE qualifications. These are highly modified in language content and presentation, to ensure our students’ significant language needs are met.
The school has extremely high standards of teaching and therapy, including a team of speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and psychotherapists.
The school is graded as ’outstanding’ by Ofsted with pupil progress and achievement ’outstanding’ across the school. You will be joining a school environment that is made up of happy students and staff.

***Classes range from 6-8 in size with a focus on implementing effective communication techniques
***Therapy rooms and designated areas for specialist support from a range of therapists including SALTs, Occupational therapists, psychologists and counsellors
***Specialist communication methods such as Makaton and PECS
***Focus on preparation for GSCE subjects and building a curriculum that works for their individual needs
***The school likes to focus on sensory teacher and a creative curriculum. You will have a senior teaching assistant and 2-3 additional LSAs in your class to support you
***QTS is needed for the role, but the school would consider unqualified teachers if you have experience to bring to the role
