Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Category Buyer to join a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation. This exciting opportunity will see you managing a portfolio of suppliers across either Powertrain or Chassis commodities, driving value through innovative procurement strategies and supplier collaboration.
About the Role:
As a Senior Category Buyer, you will:
*Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to support production growth and cost reduction.
*Lead supplier relationship management, ensuring high-quality standards and delivery performance.
*Identify and integrate new market technologies to enhance product offerings.
*Analyse market trends and provide strategic recommendations for supplier selection.
*Drive cost-saving initiatives through value engineering, negotiations, and supply base optimisation.
*Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to the overall success of the procurement team.
Key Requirements:
*Proven experience in a similar procurement role, ideally within an automotive or manufacturing environment.
*Strong commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate and influence effectively.
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
*Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
*A degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent purchasing experience) is desirable.

This role involves working cross-functionally with design, quality control, and product teams to deliver optimal outcomes. You will handle more complex component categories and may step into management responsibilities when required.
