Job Description:
Experience across Accounts Payable in Music distribution or Royalties?
If you’re passionate about both finance and music, this role could be the perfect fit!
Hybrid set up: 4-5 days for first month and then this will be a remote-first work culture with occasional office visits.
What You’ll Do:
We are working with a music-focused organisation that provide cutting-edge digital music licensing services to independent labels, distributors, and rights-holders across the globe.
Partners with top digital services, including Apple, Spotify, YouTube Music, TikTok, Deezer, and international membership includes major names like Beggars Group, DistroKid, Armada Music, Monstercat, and Sub Pop, as well as emerging labels and distributors.
What We’re Looking For:
*A proactive, finance-savvy individual to join small but dynamic finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to grow your career in a fast-paced, music-driven environment with global reach
*Accounts Payable: Manage invoices, set up trade creditors, and prepare authorised payments.
*Reconciliations: Handle weekly bank reconciliations, month-end balance sheet reports, and inter company account reconciliation.
*Financial Reporting: Support monthly self-bill invoicing, nominal ledger reconciliation, and accruals/prepayments.
*Budgets & Variances: Assist in investigating budget vs. actual variances.
*Team Support: Provide ad-hoc support to the finance team as needed.
*Educational Background: Accounting/Finance degree or equivalent, ideally studying towards ACA, ACCA, or CIMA. AAT trainees with relevant experience will be considered.
*Music Industry Exposure: Experience in the music industry
*Tech-Savvy: Experience with accounting software (Sage and Sage Intelligence preferred but not required). Familiarity with AI character recognition systems is a bonus.
*Excel Mastery: You should be proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
*Attention to Detail: A passion for working with numbers and excellent organisational skills.
*Multicurrency Expertise: Comfortable handling USD, Euro, and GBP transactions.
*A Love for Music: Passion for the music industry and supporting independents.
*Self-Starter: Strong time-management skills, with the ability to work independently and thrive in a remote-first work environment.
Handle actively welcomes applicants from under-represented backgrounds - we pride ourselves on attracting the best talent for every opportunity through a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
