Insurance Manager

Salary – Circa £53,555 per annum (plus benefits)
Hours – 37.5 hours per week, 8.30am to 5.00pm
Location Postcode – DN4 5NU

As an Insurance Manager at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Company evaluates its risks and purchases the correct levels of insurance to protect its risks and assets. To assist the Group Head of Risk and Insurance to ensure that the insurance policies purchased provide value to the business against self-insurance and that the company receives a suitable service proposition and value from its insurance broker. To provide an efficient and cost-effective claims handling service.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week, however, we will consider requests for job shares to suit your lifestyle (working full days).

What will you be doing?

Assist the Group Head of Risk & Insurance in collation of renewal information.

Provide detailed analysis on acquired insurance products to ensure that cover is fit for purpose.

Make recommendations for rating, wording and insurers to Group Head of Risk & Insurance to Identify property acquisitions and ensure insurance arrangements are up-to-date.

Identify new insurable risks within the Business and make recommendations for effective management of the risks.

Manage the liability claims notification process to insurers so that the insurers have sufficient information to investigate claims and monitor the effectiveness of the insurer’s claims handling service ensuring that claims are redirected to service providers wherever possible and ensure the terms and conditions of contracts are clear and robust.

Support Insurance Team with large property claims.

Keep procedures up-to-date and ensure appropriate people are aware and able to follow the procedures as appropriate. - Set strategy for event management within the organisation, produce clear guidelines and ensure adherence to the procedures, in conjunction with the relevant teams.

Manage Bordereaux on both Motor and Casualty Claims.

Provide good liability decision making to ensure claims are settled as cost effectively as possible.

Arrange at least quarterly meetings with our liability claims handlers to review the progress and agree strategy on outstanding claims.

Provide detailed claims reports and analysis to help the business understand the financial impact of claims and their causes and trends.

Make recommendations from claims analysis to help reduce the number and cost of claims.

Ensure the business receives value for money and the appropriate level of service and advice from its brokers to complement that provided in house.

Attend meetings with brokers and insurers to ensure FCC are fully represented when they are considering underwriting our risks.

Challenge any unreasonable risk improvements requested by insurers and ensure that all agreed improvements are implemented.

Provide technical insurance advice to all areas of the business on insurable risks and evaluate the cost of insurance versus different levels of self-insurance.

Assist in managing the renewal process for both Group and PFI insurances. Ensure risk information remains up to date throughout the year.

Attend internal meetings to ensure all interested parties are aware of the companies insurance and claims position and that any large losses or expenditure on risk improvements is highlighted accordingly.
