ROLE- Project Design Engineer

LOCATION- Southampton

TERM- Permanent

SALARY- £30,000 - £40,000, dependent on experience 

My client is a specialist product designer and manufacturer. They are looking for a Project Design Engineer to join their team in Southampton on a permanent basis.    

The Project Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes: *HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / Degree qualified in Design, Engineering or similar
*0-3 years’ or more of experience in a similar Design / CAD Operation position
*Knowledge of manufacturing processes including sheet metal, fabrication and welded parts  
*Be proficient using 2D CAD software such as AutoCAD 
*Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
*Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
*Proficient using MS Office
*Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
*Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team

The Project Design Engineer role will involve: *Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
*Producing fabrication drawings to bespoke requirements
*Communicating directly with clients to determine requirements 
*Liaising with manufacturing providers
*Being involved in final assembly of products
*Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
*Updating 3D models and drawings
*Checking drawings for sign off
*Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
