Job Description:
Operations Assistant *Annual Salary: Up to £26,000 (depending on qualifications and experience)
*Location: Watford
*Job Type: Full-time
We are seeking an Operations Assistant to join our client’s dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to our operations through excellent organisational and communication skills. Experience in the industry is a plus, but not necessary, as we value a willingness to learn and adapt.
Day-to-day of the role: *Follow up and track Purchase Orders (POs) from customers, ensuring timely processing.
*Communicate and resolve any queries on orders with customers and factories.
*Upload styles, sales orders (SOs), and POs in the ERP system and perform system housekeeping to ensure data accuracy.
*Send POs to factories and sales order confirmations (SOCs) to customers.
*Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely shipments and deliveries.
*Monitor delivery schedules and update customers on any delays or issues.
*Provide barcodes and packing and shipping instructions to factories.
*Process stock into inventory, allocate orders, raise picking tickets, and invoices.
*Send weekly order books to customers and follow up for bookings.
*Process booking forms and communicate delivery schedules with warehouses.
*Advise customers on order status, delivery delays, and any related issues.
*Address queries from credit control and finance departments.
*Ensure accurate and efficient reporting throughout each sales season.
*Work with factories and shipping departments on salesman samples and resolve related queries.
*Support the Operations team with ad-hoc tasks related to sales and purchase orders.
*Assist with additional tasks related to customer order management, sales support, and internal operations as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications: *Natural ability to multi-task with strict adherence to deadlines.
*Strong detail orientation with excellent time management and organisational skills.
*Tech-savvy – proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word, and quick to learn new ERP systems.
*Outstanding communication and follow-up skills.
*Eagerness and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, driven by teamwork and collaborative innovation.
*Self-starter and solution-oriented, able to manage own workload.
*Experience in a similar role is advantageous but not required.
*Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
