Job Description:
Are you a proactive and organised individual with a passion for supply chain management? Our client, a leading aerospace company based in Solihull, is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist to join their team in Solihull!
As the Supply Chain Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring an efficient supply chain to meet customer expectations. Collaborating with the Engineering department and Supply Chain Buyers, you will develop strong supplier relationships and identify low-cost solutions at the early design stage. Your problem-solving skills and ability to multitask will be put to the test as you coordinate and manage procurement requirements throughout the project’s development.
Summary:
*Start date: ASAP
*Duration: 6 months with potential to be extended
*Location: Shirley, Solihull - this is a Hybrid role 3 days will be on-site
*Pay Rate: £22.87 - £26.00 per hour
*Hours: 37 per week Monday to Friday
Duties Include:
*Develop and track project cost targets, proposing cost-effective solutions.
*Conduct due diligence checks and monitor supplier’s financial performance.
*Coordinate supplier selection processes and manage procurement requirements.
*Represent the Supply Chain at project reviews and provide clear communication to stakeholders.
*Utilise systems such as SAP to extract data and report metrics.
*Drive negotiations for contracts and pricing agreements.
Essential Requirements:
*Technical background in electrical or mechanical engineering, preferably within aerospace or high precision industries.
*Strong negotiation skills and experience in managing supplier relationships.
*Proficiency in IT and ERP systems, leveraging data for business benefit.
*Proactive with excellent planning and organisational skills.
*Flexibility to work effectively as part of a team within tight deadlines.
*SAP experience
*Strong Excel and PowerPoint knowledge
Desirable Requirements:
*Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
*Awareness of AS9100 requirements.
*CIPS membership and relevant qualifications.
*Familiarity with Production Part Approval Process (UPPAP) deliverables.
