Job Description:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll leverage your expertise in Agile methodologies and DevOps to design, develop, test, and support cutting-edge software solutions, helping to revolutionize our underwriting processes.
Deliver comprehensive solutions ranging from sophisticated Underwriting Dashboards to an advanced Actuarial Model Management platform. The team collaborates closely with the Innovation & Analytics department to shape the Data Platform and unlock its potential.
Key Responsibilities • Collaborate with underwriters, data engineers, and software engineers to redefine the future of Property & Casualty underwriting.
• Adapt to change and continuously refine processes to optimize the underwriting experience.
• Deliver impactful software through incremental development cycles.
• Champion technical excellence to ensure adaptability and scalability.

Required Skills and Qualifications Essential:
• Solid understanding of Domain Driven Design (DDD).
• Proficiency in application development, particularly with Python (experience with FastAPI is advantageous).
• Relevant educational background (e.g., BSc in Computer Science or Engineering) or equivalent certifications.
• 5+ years of proven experience in designing and implementing complex software solutions.
• Strong foundation in object-oriented programming and expertise in TDD/BDD.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Awareness of modern software methodologies, including integration patterns, microservices, and containerization.

Desirable:
• Exposure to frontend technologies like HTML, CSS, HTMX, or React.
• Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps methodologies.
• Experience with monitoring tools and observability practices.
• Familiarity with Actuarial/Commercial Insurance processes is a plus.
• Basic understanding or interest in Terraform and cloud deployment pipelines on AWS or Azure.
