Job Description:
A well established building contractor based in Northampton are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our small and dynamic commercial team.
This role offers the opportunity to work across a variety of exciting construction projects, contributing to the success of a well-established, family-run company.

This client cover a wide variety of projects from painting/decorating, commercial refurbishments, listed building projects as well as repairs and maintenance works across different sectors including leisure, public sector and retail. They are a family run business with a fantastic reputation across the industry and work alongside a number of long standing clients.
Description
Key Responsibilities:
*Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for construction projects.
*Support the procurement process, including tender preparation, supplier negotiations, and subcontractor engagement.
*Assist in the measurement and valuation of works for interim and final accounts.
*Monitor project costs and identify potential areas for cost savings.
*Collaborate with project teams to ensure financial and contractual control throughout project life cycles.
*Support in the preparation and submission of variations and claims.
*Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation to support project delivery.
*Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and contractors.
Profile
Ideally they are looking for someone who:
*Has a degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field (or working towards one/work experience already).
*Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
*Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
*Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction-related software.
*Eagerness to learn and develop within the role.
