*Location: Leicester City Centre.
*Pay rate: £90 - £100 per day.
*Contract: Full-time, temporary (permanent positions available after probation)
*Age Group: 11-16 years
*Start Date: 27/01/2025

Hays Education are working alongside a leading PRU in the heart of Leicester City Centre with an OFSTED rating of ’Good’. The students attending this school have been excluded, or at risk of exclusion from mainstream schooling. The school offer a broad range of full time and part time educational programmes, collaborating with alternative provisions throughout the city to provide students with high quality vocational courses.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join our team at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Leicester City Centre. The successful candidate will support students aged 11-16 with complex behavioural difficulties, including those with autism and ADHD. This role involves working on a 1:1 basis as well as supporting smaller intervention groups to help students achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
*Provide 1:1 mentoring and support to students with behavioural difficulties.
*Facilitate and support small intervention groups aimed at improving behaviour and social skills.
*Develop and implement individualised behaviour plans in collaboration with teachers and other staff.
*Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
*Use de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour strategies to manage challenging behaviour.
*Support students with autism and ADHD, adapting approaches to meet their specific needs.
*Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
*Liaise with external agencies and professionals as required.

Qualifications and Experience:
*Previous experience working with children and young people with behavioural difficulties.
*Experience supporting students with autism and ADHD is highly advantageous.
*Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
*Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude.

Desirable:
*Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related field.
*Training in de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour support.

Working Hours:
*Full-time, Monday to Friday.
Salary:
*£100 per day, equivalent to £19,500 per Annum (Actual Salary)
