MBDA is looking for a SOC Manager to be responsible for the effective delivery and resilience of the 24x7 on premise services and resources.
Salary: Up to £75,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2 days per week on-site due to workload classification
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The Opportunity:
- Effective delivery and resilience of the 24x7 on premise cyber security service and resources. This role reports to the Head of Cyber Security Services and CERT. 
- Key lines of communication with the UK CISO, InfoSec Mangers, IM Service Delivery, Group InfoSec Co-ordinator, other National SOC managers and various IT suppliers.
- Accountable for the continuous improvement and maturity of the 24x7 threat detection capabilities.
- Line management and mentoring responsibility for the SOC resources and cyber apprentices, ensuring any training and development needs are supported. this role has budget responsibility requiring close engagement with external security providers and collaboration with our internal procurement teams for any renewals and RFP activity.
What we’re looking for from you:
*Accountable for ensuring the 24x7 SOC Service is meeting its mission and maintaining and effective resilient service
*Responsible for the line management, recruitment and development of the UK SOC resources
*Responsible for Tier 1 - 2 cyber security investigations and incident management
*Accountable for effective SOC remediation actions aligned to process and policy
*Responsible for updating the Cyber THIEF (Threat Hunting and Intelligence Exchange Forum), iSOC and CERT documentation and activities
*Chairing monthly SOC meetings with the relevant representatives from InfoSec, IM Domains and IT suppliers
*Responsible for cyber security reporting and updates for IM UK into management and cyber steering groups
*Coordination of SOC in support of cyber security incidents
*Support the UK Cyber Threat Assessment Group
*Managing external relationships with technology and service providers
*Coordination of cyber security Proof of Concepts (POCs)
*Advising IM of future cyber security technologies and requirements
*Advising the budget holder of planned SOC spend based on gap analysis and continuous improvement activities
*Working closely with procurement to negotiate the purchase of new technologies and the renewal of support contracts
*Support the IM Academy cyber apprentices as required
