Accounts Manager
Location: Edinburgh
Salary: Circa £45,000
Clark Wood is partnering with a growing independent firm in central Edinburgh to recruit an Accounts Manager. This role offers the chance to manage a successful client portfolio, providing both client-facing and managerial responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a client portfolio (circa £100,000 in fees) including individuals and owner-managed businesses.
Prepare and review accounts for companies, partnerships, LLPs, and sole traders.
Handle corporation and personal tax returns, and partnership tax computations.
Communicate regularly with clients to resolve queries and ensure efficient service delivery.
Oversee office operations and contribute to the growth of the client portfolio.
Lead and develop a team, ensuring high levels of productivity and adherence to deadlines.
Liaise with HMRC and other bodies as needed.
Support the director in managing the department and office.
Take part in business development activities to expand the client base and identify new billing opportunities.
Requirements:
5+ years’ practice experience, with a proven ability to manage a sizeable client portfolio.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
ACCA (or equivalent) qualified, or AAT qualified with strong practice experience.
Ability to work under pressure and manage a diverse workload.
Benefits:
25 days annual leave (plus public holidays, pro-rated for part-time)
50 hours CPD annually
Study support for ACCA/ICAEW/ICAS Level 7
Training in leadership and first aid
