Part-Time SEN Teaching Assistant (Term-Time Only)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 12:00 PM - 3:30 PM
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to support a child in Key Stage 1 with autism at an inclusive and nurturing primary school in Harrow. This is a part-time role during school term times, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a young child’s learning journey.

The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
*Work one-to-one with a Key Stage 1 child with autism, providing tailored support.
*Implement strategies to enhance the child’s communication, social interaction, and engagement with learning activities.
*Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and other professionals to follow and adapt the child’s individual learning plan.
*Use your initiative to address the child’s unique needs, helping to create a positive, consistent, and structured environment.
*Build a trusting relationship with the child, fostering their self-confidence and independence.
What We’re Looking For *Experience in a similar role, particularly supporting children with autism, is a strong advantage.
*An understanding of autism and strategies to support children with social and communication difficulties.
*A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with young children.
*Strong communication and teamwork skills.
*Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
