Job Description:
IMC Group is excited to represent a leading private healthcare providerin the search for a skilledBiomedical Scientistto join their Histology team based at a prestigious London location. This organization has over 35 years of experience providing comprehensive pathology services, supporting a range of clinical specialties including acute care, IVF clinics, healthcare screening, and GP services. The laboratory is equipped with cutting-edge analytical instruments to support high-quality patient care.
In this role, you will work closely with senior team members to provide effective Histopathology laboratory services, using your expertise to carry out a range of routine and complex investigations. You’ll ensure high standards of patient care and accurate results, while contributing to the ongoing development of laboratory practices.
Key Responsibilities:
*Follow the laboratory’s policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
*Adhere to professional standards set by IBMS, HCPC, and ISO 15189 - (2012) for UKAS accreditation.
*Conduct routine and complex tissue investigations using specialized laboratory equipment.
*Manage daily tasks involved in the clinical pathology service, ensuring high-quality patient care.
*Assist in training new staff and work closely with senior team members to introduce new techniques.
*Promote effective teamwork and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues.
*Participate in rotations across different areas of the department, ensuring timely and accurate sample processing.
*Perform laboratory techniques such as QC of slides, frozen section techniques, biopsy transfers, embedding, microtomy, and special staining.
