Job Description:
Position: Technician in Construction
Location: Rotherham
Salary: Hourly Rate (up to £17 per hour inclusive)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary for 3 months
Hours: 37hrs per week
The role
Our client is a leading educational institution dedicated to providing high-quality training and education. Their Construction Department delivers practical and theoretical skills to prepare students for the construction industry. They are looking for a skilled and motivated Construction Technician to join their team and support the development of the next generation of construction professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
*Prepare and maintain tools, equipment, and materials for construction workshops.
*Support teaching staff during practical sessions, ensuring health and safety compliance at all times.
*Provide technical assistance to students, demonstrating proper use of tools and equipment.
*Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in the workshops.
*Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks on tools and machinery.
*Assist in the procurement of materials and supplies for workshop sessions.
*Ensure adherence to health and safety standards and promote safe working practices.
What our client is looking for:
*Experience in construction or a related technical field (e.g., carpentry, bricklaying, plumbing, etc.).
*Strong knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used in construction.
*Commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety.
*Excellent organisational and communication skills.
*Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.
*A relevant technical qualification is desirable but not essential.
