Customs Clerk
Location: Ipswich, Suffolk
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Shifts: 4 days on, followed by 4 days off (including weekends) No evening work (830am to 5PM)
A leading global shipping services company with years of experience in the logistics and maritime industry is seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Customs clerk. Responsibilities include:
*Overseeing and managing the customs clearance process.
*Preparing and submitting all necessary documentation accurately.
*Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations.
*Acting as a liaison between customs authorities, shipping companies, and other stakeholders.
*Utilising advanced software systems to manage customs declarations.
*Identifying compliance risks and providing expert guidance to both clients and internal teams.
What are we looking for:
*Previous logistics experience ideally but not essential
*If no logistics experience then strong data entry or Excel skills are essential
The company offers:
*25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service.
*Any weekend work is WFH
