Financial Controller | World-Leading Private Equity Fund | London
Harmonic are delighted to be working exclusively with a world-renowned Private Equity Fund in their search for a Financial Controller to run their internal finance operations. The fund invests heavily in the global late-stage startup and mature technology scale-up market, backing some of the most disruptive and successful startups of the last decade. As Financial Controller, you will be partnering day-to-day with some of the most impressive people in the scale-up ecosystem including: Investors, Fund Finance, Marketing and People & Talent.
The team is made up of exceptionally talented, bright and ambitious people contributing to a strong culture of trust and autonomy which has been central to company’s success so far. The role will be based in their Central London office with the opportunity to work from home 2-3 days per week.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded PE Fund whilst having a significant contribution to the ongoing development of the finance function.
The Role:
The Financial Controller will report directly into the Finance Director and will be responsible for managing the daily finance operations of the business and continuously developing the function.
Responsibilities:
*Ensuring the strict internal controls and processes remain fit for purpose as the company continues to scale, driving change where required
*Oversee the monthly Finance Board pack, including management accounts, commentary and analysis
*Oversee financial records and statements for group entities, including carried interest and co-investment vehicles.
*Cash flow management and forecasting to enable the company to meet future investment funding requirements and day-to-day working capital needs while enhancing treasury operations and controls.
*Develop and maintain the company budget, track actuals versus budget, and provide supporting analysis for quarterly and annual accounts.
*Prepare LLP profit allocations and ensure accurate reporting.
*Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including fund administrators, legal, compliance advisors, fund finance and people teams.
*Support administration and reporting processes for carried interest and co-investment entities.
*Support the Finance Director on finance transformations and adhoc strategic projects.
*Partner with Tax on VAT and Corporate Tax issues as required
Requirements:
*Professional accountancy qualification (preferably ACA or equivalent)
*Trained in Top 10 Accountancy firm
*Significant post-qualification experience, ideally in Private Equity, Venture Capital or a high growth Technology startup / scale-up
*Strong academic background
