Job Description:
Our client is a leading company in the financial sector, providing top foreign exchange solutions to global corporations, funds and individuals. Their team is composed of dedicated professionals with deep and broad expertise in the financial field, specifically in foreign exchange.
They are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Senior Finance Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in finance and will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to financial management, reporting, and record-keeping.
Key duties
Management of Accounts Payable: This includes processing payments, maintaining cost reports, managing invoices and ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded, filed, and reported.
Handling accruals and prepayments: This involves ensuring that all necessary accruals and prepayments are accurately recorded in a timely manner.
Performing revenue and bank reconciliations: On a regular basis, you’ll be expected to cross-verify and reconcile the company’s bank statements with internal financial records.
Using Excel for Financial Tasks: You’ll need to manipulate and analyze financial data using Excel, create comprehensive financial reports, and present findings to the team.
Using Xero Financial Software: The ideal candidate will be familiar with Xero, which will be used for various financial tasks such as data entry, reporting, and analysis.
Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and forecasts.
Inter-department Liaison: Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations, providing them with accurate financial information and resolving any finance-related issues they might have.
Policy and Procedure Development: Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to ensure optimal efficiency within the finance department.
Team Support: Provide support to the finance team as needed, including stepping in to help with other tasks during peak times or staff absences.
Ideal candidate
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, with a focus on accounts payable, accruals, prepayments, revenue, and bank reconciliations. They will be highly skilled in Excel and ideally have experience using Xero. They will be reliable, detailoriented, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
