Job Description:
40 hours per week Normal working hours will be between Monday - Friday 08:00 - 17:00. There will be opportunity for overtime including evening and weekend working.

As part of our expert Property Section team, you’ll help care for and maintain the buildings that make up The King’s official residences. With the privilege of working on a diverse and historic estate primarily at Kensington Palace, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the electrical systems are well maintained, operational and ready to support the various activities and events which take place within the buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
*You’ll carry out electrical fault finding, repairs, minor installations and testing of electrical systems including internal and external lighting and power supplies across the Estate, under the guidance of the in-house Supervisor.
*You’ll carry out routine planned maintenance tasks and minor reactive repairs, identifying parts and spares required (including alternatives) and reporting major issues as needed, working closely with the in-house Helpdesk and Planned Maintenance teams.
*You’ll undertake temporary power and lighting installation for ad hoc events, ensure necessary safety checks are completed and equipment is safely demobilises on completion.
*You’ll respond to any onsite electrical emergencies, continuing on-site to resolve any issues as necessary under overtime escalating as required through the in-house Supervisor.
*You’ll lead on identifying appliance replacement and upgrade options for residential properties and support the supervision of installation contractors working on various activities across the Estate, including overseeing and escorting them around the premises under the guidance of the in-house Supervisor.
*You’ll manage the onsite workshop including cataloguing and ensuring all necessary tools, equipment, parts and spares required to undertake your duties, with the support of the in-house Supervisor.
Working in such a prestigious environment, you’ll use your skills to contribute to the efficient running of day to day operations and help preserve these remarkable buildings for generations to come.
Essential Criteria:
*Qualified to C&G Level 3 in Electrical Installations / maintenance, C&G 2391 Inspection and Testing and C&G 2382 IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition), you’ll bring a solid understanding of electrical installations and repairs.
*You’ll have experience in building maintenance, ideally in historic or listed buildings, and a passion for providing the highest standards of maintenance services with the ability to respond to and resolve day to day problems as they arise.
*You’ll be self-sufficient and self-starting; able to prioritise and work individually whilst being approachable, flexible, and have a ’can-do’ attitude that allows you to adapt to a wide variety of tasks.
*Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach are essential, as you’ll interact with both internal teams and external contractors.
*You’ll also be IT literate, with experience of Microsoft Office applications, and ideally have experience using a CAFM system and handheld devices for task management.
*A full driving license is desirable
Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends particularly when events or functions are held, to cover out of hours maintenance works or in response to operational emergencies.
