Job Advert: School Kitchen Assistant - Secondary School in Colchester
Are you passionate about working in a school environment and helping to deliver nutritious meals? We are looking for a dedicated School Kitchen Assistant to join our vibrant secondary school in Colchester, starting in January 2025.
About the Role As a School Kitchen Assistant, you will assist with all aspects of food preparation and service to meet school standards. This is a part-time, term-time-only position with working hours from 11:15 am to 1:45 pm (2.5 hours per day, 12.5 hours per week across 39 weeks).
Key Responsibilities *As a school kitchen assistant in Colchester you will be assisting with the preparation and cooking of food for pupils and other schools within the Academy Trust.
*Serving food at the counter, hatch, or trolley as required.
*Undertaking cleaning tasks, including equipment, walls, floors, and utensils, to maintain a high standard of hygiene.
*Ensuring counters and tables are clean and fully stocked during service.
*Maintaining personal and general cleanliness and hygiene to comply with statutory and school regulations.
*Occasionally assisting with special school functions outside normal hours.
*Reporting accidents, complaints, or irregularities and taking appropriate action.
Requirements *A proactive and reliable team player with a positive attitude.
*Ability to maintain cleanliness and adhere to hygiene standards.
*Willingness to undertake training and additional responsibilities when required.
