Job Description:
Children’s Residential Practitioner
Duration: Initially 3 months
Hours: 37 hours per week
Rate: £20 umbrella an hour (£18 PAYE an hour)
Southampton City Council are looking for a Children’s Residential Practitioner to join one of their Children’s Homes.
Responsibilities:
*Contribute toward the development and adherence to risk assessment and care plans for children in the home
*Develop and deliver activities for children including fun, developmental and educational experiences to support them to thrive
*Use IT recording systems to record key information relevant to the lives and experiences of children in the home
*Provide a safe, clean, warm environment for children including domestic tasks such as cleaning and cooking
*Engage in supervision, reflection and training to demonstrate consistent self-development and improvement of both self and the wider service
Requirements:
*Functional Skills in English and Maths at Level 2 or equivalent
*Previous experience of working with children and young people who have experienced trauma
*Knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance and practices and their implications
