SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)
• Location: Croydon & Sutton
• Job Type: Full-time
• Salary: Negotiable Rates - MPS/UPS
• Immediate Start
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to join our dynamic team in local schools. This role is crucial for coordinating and overseeing the provision of special educational needs (SEN) support for students across various key stages including Early Years, Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, and Key Stage 3. If you have a passion for supporting students with disabilities and challenges to achieve their full potential, this role is for you.
Day-to-day of the role:
• Coordinate and oversee the provision of SEN support for students.
• Ensure effective implementation of the school’s SEN policies and procedures.
• Identify, assess, and provide interventions for students with SEN.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
• Monitor the progress of students with SEN and adjust interventions as necessary.
• Attend training and conferences to stay updated with current SEN practices and policies.
• Work with other school staff to ensure all students’ needs are met and contribute to the school’s overall improvement plan.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Postgraduate qualification in SEN (desirable but not essential).
• Proven experience working with students with SEN.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professionals.
• Strong knowledge of SEN policies and procedures.
• Exceptional organizational and administrative skills.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
