About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and versatile engineering professional with experience in metrology and a solid background in mechanical engineering or a related scientific field. This role requires a proactive, client-facing team player who excels in solving complex technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
*Deliver Metrology Projects: Manage and execute client projects to a high technical standard, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
*Provide Technical Excellence: Conduct equipment demonstrations, develop technical proposals, and reinforce the company’s reputation as a leading metrology solutions provider.
*Support Sales and Implementation: Collaborate on pre- and post-sales activities to deliver tailored metrology solutions.
*Design and Develop Solutions: Create metrology fixtures, engineering drawings, and manufacturing data; test and deliver robust measurement programs.
*Project Management: Own and manage custom projects, coordinating with service and operations teams for seamless delivery while maintaining clear communication with clients.
*Technical Problem Solving: Address technical challenges swiftly and independently.
*Demonstrations and Proposals: Work alongside the sales team to provide on-site and in-house demonstrations, crafting solutions that meet customer outcomes.
*Team Coordination: Offer managerial support for the Head of Technical Delivery when needed.
Qualifications and Expertise
Essential:
*Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related scientific discipline.
*5–10 years of experience as a metrologist or senior quality engineer.
*Advanced knowledge in: *Calibration uncertainty
*Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
*Measurement Systems Analysis
*Proficiency in programming metrology systems (e.g., CMMs, vision systems).
*Expertise in mechanical design for metrology fixtures, with experience in SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
*Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
*Excellent organisation, communication, and commercial awareness.
*Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
*Experience with robotics or industrial automation.
*Knowledge of software development or programming.
