About the Role

We are looking for a Financial Accountant to support the growth aspirations of our Plymouth based client by working closely with your team, wider finance and non-finance teams also. 

In this role, you will:
*Ensure statutory financial accounting is complete, effective, and compliant.
*Maximise the company’s financial position through best practices.
*Oversee the day-to-day financial accounting activities, ensuring legal compliance.
*Apply strong technical accounting knowledge and skills to drive improvement.
*Demonstrate leadership and energy to guide us toward our goals while maintaining compliance.
Key Responsibilities
*Prepare statutory financial statements and VAT returns.
*Maintain complex asset registers and balance sheet controls.
*Prepare management accounts.
*Ensure compliance with current and emerging accounting standards.
*Manage and motivate the financial accounting team.

About the Candidate
*Significant experience in an accountancy environment.
*ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified preferable. 
*A good understanding of current and emerging accounting standards.
*Experience in managing and motivating teams.
