Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for Temp to Perm Grounds Maintenence Supervisor:
Reporting to Supervisor/Estates Services Manager (Grounds Maintenance), you will complete gardening duties working with the teams and providing first point of contact supervision and advice, coordinate a team of grounds maintenance operatives.
You will be required to contribute to the planning and delivery of the grounds maintenance service in Worcester and Hereford.
You will line manage a team of gardeners, providing first line management, undertaking development reviews, one to one’s and return to work interviews.
Responsibilities
Carry out gardening duties working with teams across sites for grounds maintenance duties for Worcester and Hereford.
Carry a mobile phone for communication purposes and undertake reporting as instructed by line management. Ensure the phone is working and charged fully and report any default to line manager urgently.
Carry out inspections on standard of work.
Ensure completion of works by the team by setting targets.
Work with colleagues across the group to ensure delivery of the services provided.
Work with teams across the group for training.
Liaise with tradespeople and other agencies regarding work being carried out in multi-storey blocks.
Respond to emergencies as requested.
Ensure all work is effectively supervised and that any problem is reported to the Supervisor/Estates Services Manager.
Maintain regular contact with staff and management to identify performance in line with the above.
Be responsible for ensuring that employee’s under supervision understand all matters relating to the safekeeping and safe use of all equipment.
Ensure that all staff have relevant keys, materials & equipment to undertake a full range of duties.
Be allocated specific areas of work for which you will be held accountable in regard to standards as set out in the procedural manual.
Work flexibly and effectively, as part of the team delivering services across the estates.
Assist with the planning of other works when deemed necessary by the Supervisor.
Work within any part of the team as required.
Attend training and briefing sessions, which are deemed beneficial to the post.
