Position: Science Teacher (Secondary School)
Location: Tower Hamlets, East London
Contract Type: Permanent
Start Date: January 2025
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
About the Role:
We are working with a highly regarded secondary school in Tower Hamlets to find a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis from January 2025. The school is committed to delivering a rich and challenging curriculum, helping students develop a passion for Science and excel in their studies.
As a Science Teacher at this school, you will teach across key stages 3 and 4, and potentially key stage 5, depending on your experience and expertise. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and supporting students academic and personal development. You will also be expected to contribute to the wider school community, taking part in extracurricular activities and collaborating with colleagues across subjects.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging Science lessons in line with the national curriculum.
Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching to meet individual needs.
Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry.
Support the pastoral care and well-being of students.
Contribute to departmental and whole-school initiatives.
Maintain high expectations of student behavior and achievement.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
A degree in a Science-related subject (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
A passion for teaching and inspiring young people.
Strong subject knowledge across the Science disciplines.
A commitment to raising standards and supporting student achievement.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team.
