Job Description:
Design & Technology (DT) Technician
Location: Mainstream Secondary School, Lewisham
Role: Full-Time, Long-Term
Start Date: Immediate
Salary: Dependent on Experience
Are you passionate about Design & Technology and looking to join a dynamic, supportive team in a well-established secondary school? We are seeking a motivated and reliable DT Technician to support the delivery of high-quality DT education. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a keen interest in practical subjects to make a real impact in a secondary school setting.
Key Responsibilities: *Support the Design & Technology department with preparation and maintenance of materials and equipment.
*Set up and clear away equipment for lessons, ensuring everything is ready for teaching.
*Assist with the safe use of tools, machinery, and resources in the classroom.
*Provide technical support during practical lessons, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment.
*Maintain the stock of resources, including ordering materials and keeping an inventory of tools.
*Help ensure that health and safety standards are adhered to at all times.
*Assist in the preparation of teaching resources and materials for lessons.
*Help with administrative tasks, including filing and keeping records up to date.
Requirements: *A keen interest in Design & Technology or a similar subject.
*Previous technician experience is preferred but not essential.
*A DBS check on the update service is required.
*Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
*Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
*Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with students and staff.
*A proactive approach and willingness to learn on the job.
