About the Role As part of the Pimlico District Heating Undertaking (PDHU) project team, you’ll play a vital role in overhauling and decarbonizing the Council’s largest communal heating and hot water network, which serves over 3,000 homes. This is a high-profile project at the heart of Westminster’s Housing and Climate portfolios, currently in its Outline Business Case stage.
You will lead on resident communications, engagement, and advocacy for the PDHU project, ensuring our diverse communities are informed, consulted, and involved.
By building strong relationships with stakeholders-including residents, commercial users, and councilors-you will help align their priorities with the Council’s vision for a sustainable and net-zero future. Key Responsibilities Resident Engagement: Develop and deliver an effective resident engagement strategy, including managing the PDHU team inbox, hosting events, and supporting working groups.
Communications: Create accessible materials, such as website updates, literature, and presentations, to clearly communicate technical information. Stakeholder Management: Build relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and resolve concerns.
Advocacy: Represent resident priorities at board meetings and ensure their voices influence project decisions. Event Management: Plan and deliver meetings, events, and site visits to maximise resident participation. Diversity and Inclusion: Use translation services and other tools to ensure all residents can engage meaningfully. Project Delivery: Support the PDHU team in achieving sustainability and decarbonisation goals.
What We’re Looking For Experience: Proven experience in a similar role (paid or voluntary). Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders. A track record of supporting project or case management delivery in collaborative environments. Experience in service-oriented sectors where customer satisfaction is key. Skills: Relationship-building and advocacy. Translating technical information into accessible formats. Organizing events and producing engagement materials. Managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
