Job Description:
Site Engineer - Tier 1 Contractor - Major Civil Engineering Project - South Hampshire
Role overview:
My client is a Tier 1 Construction and Civil Engineering Company.
They have recently been awarded a major highways redevelopment project in South Hampshire and are looking to recruit, on a permanent basis, a Site Engineer to their existing project team.
The project is valued at circa £85m and has an estimated completion date of Mid 2026.
After the conclusion of this project, the company has already secured another major infrastructure project located in Winchester, which is valued at around £250m and will offer at least another three years of work.
Therefore, the company can offer long term continuity of work in the Hampshire area.
The first upgrade project involves the provision of a new motorway underpass to the west of the existing Junction, three new slip roads to facilitate an ’all moves’ arrangement and the construction of a new dual carriageway to link the new slip roads to the existing road network. These highway improvements will make a very significant contribution to the local economy, enabling much needed new housing, amenities and jobs.
The successful candidate will have experience of delivering civil engineering projects and managing a small section of work while supervising one or more Site Engineers.
Your duties include:
*Setting out roads, earthworks and drainage with surveying equipment (GPS & Robotic Total Stations)
*Manage all engineering activity providing direction to the direct workforce and subcontractors
*Quality control to ensure the standards are met in accordance to the design specifications
*Assist in producing permits to break ground (CAT Scanning management)
*Ensuring the highest health, safety and environmental standards are met on site adhering to the client’s and business’s requirement
*Liaise with the site team to approve materials ensuring they meet specification
*Keep accurate records of progress reports, site diaries and resource allocations
*Produce as-built drawings in AutoCAD
The successful candidate will be rewarded with an outstanding working environment, opportunities to progress whatever stage of your career as well as a package that gives you security and recognises your contribution to the business.
Benefits:
*Competitive basic salary
*Company car / car allowance
*Private premium healthcare
*Flexible benefits scheme
*Company pension scheme
*Training and progression opportunities (Chartership etc)
