Job Opportunity: Works Manager About Us:
Our client specialises in the design and manufacture of high-quality equipment and systems. We are seeking an experienced and skilled Works Manager to oversee production operations, improve efficiency, and ensure a safe and productive working environment.
Role Overview: The Works Manager is responsible for organizing and monitoring workflow, delegating tasks, and improving employee efficiency while maintaining a safe and effective working environment.
Key Responsibilities: *Delegate tasks to ensure production deadlines are met.
*Organize production sequencing to maximize factory floor efficiency in line with delivery requirements.
*Monitor and report performance to the Managing Director and Operations Manager.
*Provide recommendations for improving efficiency and reducing costs, including product design and component selection.
*Address production issues and organize the repair or replacement of faulty equipment.
*Recruit, train, and manage employees, including retraining or disciplining staff as necessary.
*Establish and maintain relationships with other departments, particularly Design and Purchasing.
*Ensure adherence to safe working practices and maintain a safe working environment.
Required Skills and Experience: *Proficient in fabrication and welding.
*Working knowledge of:
*Horizontal boring
*Radial drilling
*Milling and lathe turning
*Surface preparation and painting
*Hydraulic and mechanical assembly
*Leadership and delegation skills.
*Strong communication and computer literacy skills.
*Ability to work under pressure.
*Familiarity with electronics applied to the control of hydraulic and mechanical systems.
