Job Description:
Planner (Construction) - Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC Construction Schedules
Certain Advantage are recruiting for a number of Planners on behalf of our client, a leading delivery partner for programme, project and construction management services on major infrastructure projects.
These are permanent roles requiring weekly onsite visits to the site near Bridgwater.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on one of the largest new build construction projects in the UK!
The Role
As a Construction Planner you will be responsible for the onsite planning of installation activities and associated data; including the governance, management and updating of Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC (MEH) construction schedules.
This is an important role in supporting the construction lead planner to develop and progress the integrated level 5 schedule, which encompasses the full MEH scope.
This will involve conducting integrated schedule reviews to develop detailed, optimised construction delivery sequences and resource loaded schedules.
You’ll also be responsible for Integration of construction works activities with all programmes within the MEH schedules to optimise the planning process.
Candidate experience we’re looking for
We’re looking for Planners with knowledge of Engineering, Procurement and Construction process and the integration of these activities.
You’ll be expected to offer in-depth knowledge and experience of programme progress and forecast position and planning.
You should have an understanding of various methods of planning, programming and progress monitoring
We also expect applicants to have an understanding of the construction market, methods of construction, plant, equipment and labour requirements, as well as a basic understanding of estimating principles.
It’s highly desirable to have come from either a construction trade or OND/HND in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering / Equivalent in Construction Management, or related subject. It’s also desirable if you can offer Professional membership of one or more of the following: RICS/CIOB/RIBA/ICE/CIBSE, or a demonstrable level of experience based on previous project assignments.
