Job Description:
The Role
The buyer role is a full time, permanent position offering hybrid working.
The key responsibilities of the buyer include:
*Accurately raising purchase orders through system
*Confidently liaising with suppliers building strong relationships
*Building accurate set of cost data and price lists for chosen suppliers
*Provide Order Fulfilment, Supplier Quotations, Tender/Bid Analysis, Supplier Relationship Management etc
*Manage quote analysis, negotiation, supplier selection, orders placements and delivery requirement
*Identifying opportunities for improvement including process and technology issues
*Liaise with Production, Stores and Purchasing in determining appropriate production and stock levels

Nigel Wright Supply Chain is pleased to be working with a well established design-led manufacturing business based in the Newcastle area to recruit a Buyer to join their procurement team.
The Client will support a mix of office-based- and home-working.
The Individual
The core attributes for the buyer include:
*Experience in purchasing within a manufacturing environment
*Good level of computer literacy with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
*Proactive approach and ability to manage own workload
*Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
*Ability to work as part of a team
*The ability to understand and apply commercial and financial principles, including cost v price, profit, budget control
