ESG/SUSTAINABILITY PROJECT COORDINATOR
A leading organisation in the maritime industry is seeking an ESG/Sustainability Project Coordinator to join their London team on a 12 month fixed-term contract.
The role involves developing a comprehensive ESG framework, championing best practices, and supporting the organisation’s commitment to industry-leading sustainability standards. With Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles at the core of their strategy, the organisation aims to reinforce its position as a leader in ESG by actively measuring, reporting, and improving its internal practices.

ESG/SUSTAINABILITY PROJECT COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Lead the development of an ESG framework to be used by the organisation to measure, quantify, and eventually report on its ESG practices
*Carry out a materiality assessment to identify ESG topics most relevant to the organisation
*Liaise with various internal departments (e.g. People & Culture, Finance, Information & Communications, Office Managers) to understand current policies and potential data sources for ESG self-assessment
*Begin gathering relevant data, ensuring appropriate storage, security, and protections are in place
*Conduct a mapping exercise of existing ESG/sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g. GRI, CDP, Global Compact, SDGs) to determine which frameworks and indicators may or may not be relevant to the organisation
*Deliver internal communications and training on ESG to increase engagement across the organisation
*Maintain a regular presence and establish oneself as a ’go-to’ contact for ESG-related questions
*Carry out a review of sustainability reports of other companies to understand approaches taken and identify potential synergies with the organisation
*Research ESG industry trends (e.g. carbon offsetting) and available options to mitigate impacts once identified and quantified
*Review applicable legislation and potential future reporting requirements for the shipping industry
ESG/SUSTAINABILITY PROJECT COORDINATOR ESSENTIALS:
*Degree educated in ESG/Sustainability or equivalent experience (3+ years) in ESG Project delivery
