Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist Candidates in Jericho, Oxford - Apply today! This Graduate / Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist role in Jericho, Oxford is for children aged 4-11 with challenges from mild to high levels ASD and physical disabilities. Most children have speech, language and communication needs (SLCN), and an Autism diagnosis.
This Primary school is looking for a passionate and committed Graduate / Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist to work as a SEN Teaching Assistant. You will be supporting a small groups or students 1:1 in the classroom or via interventions. Collaborating with the relevant class teachers, SENCOs and the team support staff to deliver specific interventions that aim to boost students’ learning, development and language acquisition.
As an Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a qualified Speech and Language Therapists, Teachers, and other professionals, and deliver interventions to children with speech, language and communicational needs both in small groups and 1:1. You will make a real difference to the lives of the children, gaining vital experience which will enable you to kick-start your future career.
Job role and responsibilities of a Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist:
* Assist the class teacher in providing the learning experience of students
* Behaviour and pastoral support
* Take an active role in forward planning with therapists
* Ability to build robust and effective relationships with students
* Practical approach to meet the individual needs of students
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Caring, compassionate, and a good listener
* Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with students
* Ensure safeguarding of students, in line with procedures
* Personal care support
* Attend staff meetings and complete appropriate CPD
Experience is not required, but candidates should demonstrate an interest in working with children with SEN.
Candidates registering with Academics Ltd will need to have or apply for an Enhanced DBS and/or overseas police check where appropriate.
