Job Description:
New opportunity as a Finance Business Partner joining a global insurer. This is a great opportunity to join the Planning and Performance Management team, supporting the business to deliver their strategy and financial targets. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of 3 and creating an environment where they can thrive individually and collectively.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
*Reporting directly to the Head of Planning and Performance Management and as a key member of the Leadership Team, you’ll be providing expert financial advice and quality insight into the financial performance of the business to aid decision making, financial strategy setting and ultimately improving results.
*As a member of the Leadership Team, you will be actively involved in wider, non-financial conversations and strategy days, helping input into the future of business, bringing different perspectives and challenge.
*Building relationships with the business to be considered a trusted business partner, as you’ll be at the heart of presenting financial performance and insight to stakeholders, including at Business Unit Reviews.
*Leading the Finance Business Partner team and coaching them in developing the understanding, analysis and insight required to develop the financial plan and regular reporting requirements.
*Working closely with other teams in Planning and Performance Management, including Expenses and Reporting teams and key stakeholders in the business to ensure joined up insight and delivery.
*Leading the delivery of the annual planning cycle in line with the UK & Group timelines.
*Lead delivery of regular reporting to the management team, alongside ad-hoc insight and analysis requests.
*Keep abreast of relevant industry trends and articulate impact on performance relative to competitors.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be/have
*Extensive experience in building and managing relationships with varied stakeholders at a senior level.
*Excellent understanding of the UK financial performance framework
*Ability to deliver complex financial analysis and to be a subject matter expert for complex financial queries relating to all aspects of financial performance.
*Experience of acting as a conduit between finance and the business units and support functions, with an ability to translate complex financial matters into readily understandable and meaningful insight.
*Influencing or negotiating and communicating at a senior level.
*Experience of leading a team, including continuous improvement. Proven track record in developing people and evolving teams to keep up with future trends.
*Analytical thinker with strong business acumen.
*Fully qualified accountant, or relevant qualification.
*A thought leader who can lead from the front and support the business strategy.
