Risk & Compliance Manager - Fully Remote
A specialist Travel Insurance company is seeking an experienced Risk & Compliance Manager to oversee their UK Branch.
Job Purpose:
This pivotal role holds primary responsibility for managing the Risk and Compliance framework of the UK Branch. The successful candidate will provide expert insight and guidance on all aspects of risk and compliance affecting the branch. With at least two years of experience in Risk or Compliance roles within the UK insurance sector, the role holder will play a key part in driving the branch’s successful management and ensuring regulatory adherence.
Location: Fully remote, Must be UK-based
Salary: Up to £92,000
Key Accountabilities:
-Collaborate closely with the CRO and Head of Compliance.
-Maintain independence to influence proposals or decisions impacting the company’s risk and compliance exposure, including new business and product launches.
-Report comprehensively on the branch’s risk and compliance exposure to the CRO and Head of Compliance.
-Establish and oversee effective internal governance procedures, ensuring compliance.
-Manage compliance oversight for the distribution of travel, gadget, and wedding insurance products.
-Serve as the primary contact for the FCA/PRA, ensuring full adherence to regulations, guidance, and correspondence.
Must have:
Strong understanding of UK regulatory requirements, including Solvency II and the Insurance Distribution Directive.
Proven track record in maintaining and monitoring effective risk management frameworks.
Ability to promote sound and effective risk management practices across the business.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with a pragmatic problem-solving approach.
Strong numerical ability and capacity to communicate complex issues clearly.
Ability to foster strong internal and external relationships.
Technical/Professional Qualifications:
Extensive experience in the insurance sector at a senior level, particularly in risk management and compliance.
